  • Follow process outlined in IEC 62304:2006, Medical device software life cycle processes. Process ensures compliance with rigorous cybersecurity standards

Technical Excellence:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to guide the team in adopting best practices and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Ensure the team adheres to coding standards, conducts thorough testing, and follows rigorous deployment processes to ensure high functioning and well documented software that can be included in an FDA submission prior to being cleared for use in commercial settings.

Resource Management:

  • Manage resources effectively, including budget allocation, staffing, and project prioritization.
  • Work closely with HR to recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier software development talent.

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years experience
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a leadership role within software development.
  • Significant experience serving as a product architect
  • Proven experience managing data flows, APIs and third party integrations
  • Experience with managing back end engineering teams and processes, with an understanding of server architecture and database systems
  • Experience with managing internal and external development teams, including offshore teams in different time zones
  • Familiar with basics of machine learning techniques and their interface with engineered software products.
  • Need to know enough to ask the right questions and make sure machine learning elements fit well with the rest of the code

  • Expertise in Computer Vision and/or Machine learning techniques
  • Experience developing software in a regulated environment such as following IEC 62304:2006, Medical device software life cycle processes

  • $230,000 - $269,279 (Salary range for candidates based in San Jose, CA)
