Senior Site Reliability Engineer / Cloud Engineer

The TMRW Life Science Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for supporting TMRW’s cloud infrastructure and services. You will be responsible for supporting Linux and Kubernetes based deployments and Google Cloud. You’ll be faced with a variety of challenges and provided opportunities for learning and growth. As a Senior SRE, you will ultimately be responsible for system reliability, developer productivity, and reducing time to market by striving to continuously reduce technical debt. This role is based in our New York City or Indianapolis office.

  • Deploy software and related updates to production, testing and development environments.
  • Write and maintain helm charts and help maintain the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Manage resources in TMRW’s cloud infrastructure including virtual machines, cloud databases, message queues, and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Assist with monitoring, using tools such as Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Icinga, Graylog and Grafana.
  • Assist in documenting procedures for our information technology infrastructure and disaster recovery. Keep abreast of new technological developments, including security vulnerabilities.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, problem determination, and resolution, and manage performance tuning, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Write tooling to reduce toil and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Help develop playbooks / runbooks and other documentation in order to meet TMRW’s SLOs.
  • Actively participate in various security audits and lead the charge for evidence collection with the security team.
  • Work with cross functional teams in supporting, stabilizing and deploying TMRW applications and the platforms.
  • Ensure the integrity and consistency of backup services.
  • Engage, influence, and evangelize SRE practices with development, operational and product groups to align technology service / solution delivery.
  • Manage availability, latency, scalability and efficiency of TMRW applications development by instilling engineering reliability into our development life cycle, with a focus on fault tolerant approaches.
  • Help capacity planning, performance analysis, instrumentation and other non-functional systems requirements.

You must be an enterprising self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and focused on flawless execution. You will win by turning ideas into action, strategy into tangible execution that will create value for TMRW and our customers. You will work closely with the technology team, development team and company stakeholders to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the organization and is delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with all the teams within TMRW.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of practical experience supporting Kubernetes.
  • 7+ years of practical experience supporting Linux.
  • 5+ years of practical experience with cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Have demonstrated experience writing code in bash, golang, or python.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Elasticsearch.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines as well as with git-ops practices for managing infrastructure.
  • You’re an excellent communicator and consider yourself to be highly organized.
  • Familiarity with Java, HIPAA, Icinga, SaltStack, Google Cloud, Terraform or Gitlab is a plus.
  • You are a curious collaborator and strong team player

The pay range for this position is: $125,000 – $140,000. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at this time. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
