About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished President of Operations who will be a key driving force behind effective and compliant business operations. This pivotal role sits at the head of Sapient’s operations, bridging cutting-edge scientific research and efficient operational management. The President of Operations will serve as a critical member of the executive leadership team, translating customer needs as well as corporate growth initiatives into actionable operational strategies. Your leadership will guide the execution of revenue generating operations, ensure quality and compliance, foster a culture of collaboration within our organization, and enable our continued rapid growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Regular reporting and executive interactions: Direct reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors, providing regular updates on corporate and operational performance, resource allocation and strategic initiatives.
• Strategic oversight: Provide oversight and strategic management of revenue-generating operations, ensuring alignment of corporate objectives and financial targets.
• Resource allocation and optimization: Manage capital efficiency through effective resource allocation and optimization, support annual budgeting process, and drive operational effectiveness.
• Performance management: Lead recruitment of top-tier talent across scientific groups, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Thought leadership: Participate as a thought leader within the Sapient leadership team, leading strategic insights and enabling innovative solutions. Act as a culture driver, promoting collaboration, accountability, and synergy across the broader organization.

What We’re Looking For

• Holds a degree in chemistry, biology, engineering or related life sciences discipline.
• At least 15 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and/or biotechnology (preferred experience with scientific service operation), with a demonstrated track record of exceptional leadership.
• Successful experience leading P&L delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Prior experience with operational oversight of advanced scientific techniques, including mass spectrometry, genomics, metabolomics, and/or proteomics.
• Prior experience establishing GCLP (Good Clinical Laboratory Practice) compliant laboratories, ensuring adherence to standards and guidelines.
• Possess a strategic mindset with the ability to align operational activities with broader business goals and contribute to the company's growth trajectory.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with successful experience leading productive interactions with Board of Directors.
