The Sr. Systems Engineer will collaborate with others in Resilience to develop instrumentation solutions. You will analyze, model, characterize and specify our in-house instrument systems for advanced personalized medicine production. The role will be a key contributor applying extensive knowledge of system engineering principles, system architectures, system modelling and requirements management. The ideal candidate will have a track record in strong contributions to the development of state-of-the-art medical manufacturing or diagnostics instrumentation products. Besides deep technical knowledge, this role requires excellent communication skills and creativity, backed by a high level of velocity and rigor.

Job Responsibilities:
Work across teams in an Agile Engineering organization to gather product and system requirements
Define, model and analyze system workflows to identify critical parameters and to create system budgets
Negotiate system budgets with stakeholder inside and outside of Resilience’s development organization
Help sub-system owners to define and document sub-system requirements and specifications
Plan and execute experiments to support requirement and specification gathering activities
Support teams in planning and execution of system verification processes
Identify and document technical risks, and work with teams on defining mitigation strategies
Contribute to technical assessments in the fields of sensor technologies, control systems, signal processing and others
Contribute to architectural concepting, characterization and selection processes
Lead root cause analysis at system and sub-system levels
Own documentation of system requirements, specifications, models, budgets and system behaviors
Contribute to Resilience’s product development roadmap by exploring new technologies
Work with Quality Engineering group to ensure appropriate processes in GMP, design history file (DHF), device history record (DHR) and follow guidelines per FDA requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven experience working in instrumentation and software development projects
Extensive knowledge of system architectures and design principles
Experience with risk analysis, FMEA analysis, system modelling and reliability test design
Proficient in requirements management, tradeoff analysis, traceability and verification testing
Experience with system usability aspects in an instrumentation and lab automation environment
Proficient in data analysis with MATLAB, Python or other programing languages required
Ability to work with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
Effective communication across various technical disciplines and stakeholders including management, peers, customers, and suppliers
Initiative, curiosity, a bias for action, and a problem-solving attitude, and desire to bring innovative, simplified solutions to complex problems
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering or biological discipline
Master's degree in an engineering or biological discipline
Previous experience as a technical lead or mentor
Experience in an instrumentation development environment
Experience managing cross-functional projects
Experience developing products from early-stage concept to volume manufacturing
Experience in developing medical devices or diagnostics instrumentation is a plus
Experience in an ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or medical device manufacturing environment is a plus
Prior experience with the Design Control processes for medical devices and Good manufacturing practice (GMP) is a plus
Knowledge in computational biology, immunology, wet-lab experimental procedures, and data analysis is a plus

Our target annualized base pay hiring range for this position is $140,000.00 - $192,500.00. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
