Position Summary:

At Resilience, we are seeking an exceptional Jr. Firmware Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will have the opportunity to design and implement firmware for embedded control systems of our cutting-edge instrumentation and automation solutions. As part of our agile and collaborative team, you will work closely with other talented engineers and scientists to revolutionize the field of personalized medicine production systems.

To excel in this position, we are looking for someone with a solid background in developing firmware and the ability to quickly learn new concepts, technologies, and design strategies. In addition to your technical expertise, excellent communication skills and creativity are essential for this role. We value your ability to work with velocity and rigor, while maintaining the highest quality standards in engineering.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the firmware team to design, develop, test, and debug embedded firmware for instrumentation and automation solutions.

  • Analyze and optimize firmware code to improve performance, memory utilization, and power efficiency.

  • Develop test plans and conduct testing to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of firmware.

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for firmware designs, code, and testing procedures.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of firmware with hardware and software components.

  • Investigate and resolve firmware-related issues, bugs, and customer-reported problems in a timely manner.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to contribute to the continuous improvement of firmware development processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Solid understanding of embedded systems and microcontroller architectures.

  • Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages.

  • Familiarity with embedded development tools and debugging techniques.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with firmware development for ARM, PIC, or other microcontroller platforms.

  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).

  • Familiarity with communication interfaces such as CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, or Ethernet.

  • Experience with version control systems like Git.

  • Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).

  • Familiarity with hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog) and FPGA programming.

  • Previous internship or project experience in firmware development.

Our target annualized base pay hiring range for this position is $60,000.00 - $86,250.00. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
