Position Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated Device Manufacturing Technician to support the manufacture and quality control of proprietary uHTS cell-based screening devices used on Plexium’s protein degradation drug discovery platform, in the Discovery Technology department. The individual will partner cross-functionally with other members of the department, project scientists and engineers. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and play a key role in supporting Plexium’s ultra-high throughput drug discovery efforts.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to support R&D and process improvement activities to meet production goals
- Formulate reagents and buffers
- Operate and maintain equipment (laminators, microscopes, ovens, vacuum pumps, liquid handlers, centrifuges, etc.)
- Assemble and package uHTS cell-based screening devices
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data; escalate issues to team lead as needed
- Perform validation experiments
- Troubleshoot and identify areas of improvements in the manufacturing process as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, maintain manufacturing records and lab notebook
- Other duties as assigned by Team Lead/Supervisor
Education and Experience Requirements
- B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Physical Chemistry, or related
- Practical, hands on experience with basic laboratory equipment (pipettes, balances, microscopes, etc.)
- Ability to understand and follow SOPs
- Fast learner with great attention to detail and communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and on teams in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and web-based or similar programs
- Experience with statistics, statistical process control and DOE techniques is a plus
- Experience with high volume production in a consumables industry is a plus
- Experience with product development processes is a plus
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $55,000-$65,000 + target annual bonus + equity + health and well-being benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to the role, location, job-related skills, and relevant education, experience and training. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position across all US locations and vary by the location of the position. Our Talent Acquisition Team can share more about our salary ranges and other benefits of working at Plexium, which are not included in the posted base salary range.
