Billing Systems Configuration Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Billing System Configuration Analyst is responsible for providing support and maintenance to end users for additions and changes to Master Files within the assigned Billing System(s). The Billing System Configuration Coordinator will review, categorize and complete change request as they enter the Billing Support change request system. This position will work directly with outside billing system vendors to complete EDI, ERA and EFT setup and maintenance. Additional duties include gathering and reporting data as well as auditing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Categorize change request received in the billing support change request system.
  • Obtain the appropriate levels of requirements, approvals, and information necessary for each change request.
  • Document, organize and oversee all supporting information regarding change requests.
  • Complete and submit the appropriate set up forms or documentation needed to complete the change request.
  • Notify the appropriate parties of updates regarding status, timelines and implementation of change.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is obtained and has received the appropriate level of quality control, approval and testing.
  • Prepare reporting regarding status of unassigned, open, closed, and archived change requests.
  • Prepare, review and report data for recurring change request audits in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review and report data for master file audits in a timely manner.
  • Assist as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.
  • Serves as primary liaison with departments including but not limited to Information Technology and Engineering regarding Billing System Applications.
  • Responsible for providing or recommending system support, system enhancements, and overall billing system development and integration with other applications.
  • Reviews billing reports and statistical data looking for trends and patterns.
  • Oversees and coordinates updates to interface tables and other master file components.
  • Provides feedback and guidance on requested changes and performs impact analysis on requested changes.
  • Leads special projects for the billing department related to systems or related assignments.
  • Approves system changes and process enhancements for billing systems extracts to a data warehouse.
  • Assists with the development of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Reviews and approves maintenance requests related to changes/updates to billing systems.
  • In conjunction with IT, oversees system administrator for database application, testing, user administration, security access and end-user training. Responsible for software maintenance and installation of upgrades
  • Oversees projects involving billing systems using formal Project Management methodology.
  • Oversees the development of business requirements for billing projects and leads the process through Testing and movement to Production in conjunction with relevant parties.
  • Develops, recommends, and leads the implementation of process changes that positively affect workflow and maximize efficiencies.
  • Responsible for documentation of Billing system related processes and end user procedures, researching and recommending Billing system solutions as required by business needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent required
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in the Healthcare Industry.
  • 2-5 years of system configuration and master file maintenance is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
  • Strong insurance billing knowledge and payer requirements.
  • Drive for results (Service, Quality, and Continuous Improvement), ensuring procedures and processes are in place that lead to delivery of quality results and continually reassess their effectiveness to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate willingness to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization in order to achieve the desired results.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.
  • Teamwork, commitment to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team.
  • Customer Service Focus to demonstrate a focus on listening to and understanding client/customer needs and then delighting the client/customer by exceeding service and quality expectations.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
