ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a remarkable mRNA Production & Process Development Co-Op to join our Screening & Automation team!

- Learn the of Chroma’s In Vitro Transcription (IVT) based mRNA production process including:
- laboratory automation related to IVT production and sample aliquoting.
- analytical instrumentation related to IVT product purity and integrity characterization.
- Interface with the plasmid production / procurement group to source IVT template materials.
- Maintain crucial reagent and consumables stocks as well as keeping detailed records of IVT batch production.
- Develop and execute research proposals to test and improve existing high throughput IVT protocols.
- Work with other groups within the organization to translate research-grade material production protocols into downstream ready processes.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, including an ability to combine attention to detail with a big picture perspective
- Strong oral and written communication skills with experience presenting scientific research both internally across all levels of the organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and, at times, uncertain or changing environment while remaining flexible, proactive, and resourceful
- Adept at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously, integrating cross-functional issues, and balancing competing priorities effectively
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with a desire to positively impact a new company’s evolving culture
- Passionate, adaptable, and keen on working in the fast-paced biotech startup space to drive cutting-edge science
- Candidates must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Biology / Chemistry or other life-sciences related disciplines with 1+ years in relevant co-op or internship experience a plus
- Experience with PCR, aseptic technique, chemical synthesis, gel electrophoresis
- Strong attention to detail
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States
