Position Summary:

Boundless Bio (BBI) is a publicly traded (Nasdaq:BOLD) San Diego-based, clinical-stage oncology company interrogating an exciting new area of cancer biology, extrachromosomal DNA (“ecDNA”), to revolutionize the way cancer is treated. We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Director/Director, SEC Reporting to play a significant role in helping us transform exciting ecDNA discoveries into the next generation of cancer medicines.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance and Controller this role will facilitate our financial reporting process and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 process, tackling highly complex technical accounting matters. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be visible to BBI’s senior leadership team. This role will have broad exposure to numerous teams within BBI and build strong internal and external business partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the SEC annual and quarterly Form 10-K / 10-Q filings process including the financial statements, notes, and MD&A, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements (including iXBRL) under U.S. GAAP and the SEC
  • Lead BBI’s Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance processes, policies, and procedures and ensure top-quality execution of our SOX 404 framework across all business functions
  • Analyze complex business transactions and research & prepare technical position papers documenting the company’s accounting for same
  • Liaise with the finance leadership team, external auditors, attorneys, and internal departments
  • Assess the impact of financial reporting information received from other functions and service providers
  • Direct and oversee the external team’s controls design and test, while maintaining a superb vendor relationship
  • Partner with Legal and Investor Relations to prepare financial communications for earnings releases and quarterly & annual reporting
  • Assist with external auditor’s quarterly review and annual audit processes
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of all SEC reporting related activities
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Perform all duties in keeping with Boundless Bio’s core values, policies, and all applicable regulations.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting with 6+ years of experience either at a Big Four public accounting firm or a combination of public accounting and public company experience
  • Knowledge of the U.S. GAAP, SOX 404 compliance and SEC reporting regulations
  • Active CPA certification preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office, NetSuite, financial reporting tools (e.g., Workiva, ActiveDisclosure, Toppan Merrill, etc.)

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $145,000 to $175,600. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. In addition to base salary, BBI employees are eligible for an annual bonus incentive and an equity stock option grant.
