About the Position

We are seeking a Research Associate, Phage Display to lead critical laboratory tasks, including laboratory protocols, blood sample processing, and clinical data curation. This is an in-person, full-time position at our laboratory in San Francisco, CA.
Degree Requirements: Bachelors or Masters in relevant life sciences field, with 2+ years of academic research, or biotech industry (preferred), experiences
Salary range: Competitive with benefits, & dependent on number of years prior experience
Location: San Francisco, CA (SOMA neighborhood, near Caltrain, MUNI, & baseball park)
Start date: March 2022
Qualifications demonstrated by successful candidates will include:
Demonstrated laboratory experience with diverse experimental techniques:
Mastery and hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques:
PCR, qPCR, NGS library preparation, protein assays (incl. ELISA)
Experience with bacteriophage, bacterial cell culture, and cloning
Experience running liquid handling automation robots is a plus
Excellent organizational instincts & communication skills in a laboratory context
Superior work-ethic, team-first mentality, and scientific maturity
Responsibilities for the Research Associate will include the following:
Support target discovery efforts through key experimental protocols
Preparing bacterial cell culture amplifications & genomic/NGS library
Support implementation of protein display (e.g. phage, yeast, mRNA)
Ordering laboratory supplies, keeping track of & restocking inventory
Participate in an interdisciplinary/cross-functional matrix environment
