About the Position
We are seeking a Research Associate, Lab Manager to lead critical laboratory tasks, including laboratory protocols, blood sample processing, and clinical data curation. This is an in-person, full-time position at our laboratory in San Francisco, CA.
Degree Requirements: Bachelors or Masters in relevant life sciences field, with 2+ years of academic research, or biotech industry (preferred), experiences
Salary range: Competitive with benefits, & dependent on number of years prior experience
Location: San Francisco, CA (SOMA neighborhood, near Caltrain, MUNI, & baseball park)
Start date: March 2022
Qualifications demonstrated by successful candidates will include:
Demonstrated laboratory experience with diverse experimental techniques:
Mastery of sterile technique when handling cell culture & blood samples
Experience with isolating cells (PBMC’s) and serum/plasma from blood
Hands-on experience with B cells, &/or cultured cells (e.g. HEK 293T)
Hands-on experience with PCR and basic in vitro assays (incl. ELISA)
Experience with qPCR, cloning, and NGS (incl. Bioanalyzer) is a plus
Interest in working with and managing clinical data from human subjects
Any research experiences involving phenotypic clinical data is a plus
Excellent organizational instincts & communication skills in a laboratory context
Aptitude or proficiency for lab supplies ordering and inventory management
Superior work-ethic, team-first mentality, and scientific maturity
Responsibilities for the Laboratory Associate will include the following:
Support laboratory projects, including single-cell and in vitro assays
Preparing bacterial cell culture amplifications, and genomic libraries
Processing human blood samples from clinical/medical collaborators
Managing clinical data from patients, & interfacing with collaborators
Coordinating with off-site collaborators to maintain and track studies
Ordering laboratory supplies, keeping track of & restocking inventory
