ArsenalBio’s mission is to develop efficacious and safe cellular therapies for patients with chronic diseases, initially cancer. With our programmable and computationally driven approach, our team is engineering living medicines to attack cancer’s inherent multi-faceted nature and overcome the challenges of addressing solid tumors with cell therapy.
Driven by a collective of diverse experts across immunology, synthetic biology, molecular biology, automation and computational biology, we are united in purpose to deliver radical breakthroughs for people with cancer, and prioritize the team’s outcomes over individual goals to achieve our company mission – together.
We are seeking an outstanding Senior Scientist to lead immunology discovery efforts to develop next generation CAR T cellular therapies for cancer. They will have a background in immunology, cellular or cancer biology and have the creativity to present new ideas and solve challenging problems. The successful candidate will communicate and collaborate within and across disciplines, both internally and with outside partners, including pharmaceutical partners and leading academic labs. This role is ideal for an individual who is driven and passionate about cell therapy in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, and execute a broad range of cell based functional and phenotypic in vitro assays to identify mechanisms of T cell dysfunction in solid tumors
  • Work in teams as the immunology SME to drive the development, execution and interpretation of automated CRISPR screens to identify novel ways to enhance T cells
  • Drive scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of ArsenalBio
  • Summarize and synthesize data across experiments and present findings at all levels of the organization
  • Provide exceptional scientific leadership and mentorship to scientists and research associates
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues in automation, computational biology, NGS and discovery in a matrixed team structure

What Will You Bring:

  • PhD in immunology, cellular or cancer biology or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Masters with 7+ years experience, or Bachelors with 9+ years experience. Industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong background in immunology and/or tumor-immune cell interactions, with a focus on T cell biology and direct experience with primary immune cell culture; prior experience with genetic engineering of primary immune cells and knowledge of tumor microenvironment (TME) and cytokine signaling is preferred
  • Expertise in developing and executing in vitro cellular assays including immune cell phenotyping, cytotoxicity, proliferation and cytokine analysis
  • Experience with general molecular biology techniques would be preferred
  • Previous experience interpreting scRNAseq and/or screening data would be preferred
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to organize and communicate complex data sets in a clear and concise manner to key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to multi-task and work in collaboration with peers within a fast-paced team environment with a positive outlook and high degree of self-motivation and organization
